To the material (natural) state of mind, a persons reality is connected to and run by a their senses. They objectify everything by how it makes them feel. Their judgement is defined in the instantness of the moment. The thought processes of the material (natural) state of mind are uncontrolled and reactionary. The present moment seems to contain the whole of the persons reality. The past is just memory. The future does not exist. Only how something is making them feel at this moment matters. Everything else is untrue.
The non-material (spiritual) state of mind sees more than the present moment. It has a greater understanding and knowledge of its true nature, its true state of being. It is non-reactionary, refined and non-judgmental. It is not controlled by the sensations of the moment. Rather, it takes in all the sensory impressions that the person has encountered, is encountering and will encounter. The non-material (spiritual) state of mind knows the big picture and is unfazed by the individual frames.
The only reason people function as they do and are not aware of the bigger picture is because they have a settled way of thinking and acting (they are creatures of habit) and it is this mental predictability that blinds them from seeing what otherwise they would see. For if a person will take the time everyday to disengage from their world of sensation and concentrate their attention upon their ideal image of themselves. Their desired state of being. They would in time acquire a greater outlook on that which they are desiring to be and would come into the possession of a new and rewarding approach to their life
A persons true nature. Their true state of being is the awakening awareness (or realization) that they are more than their current thoughts, beliefs and attitudes. It is for them to become aware of more than the present moment. It is for a person to begin seeing themselves and their world in a different light. It is for them to become aware of being aware. This enlightened awareness. This detachment from the senses releases a person from their natural state of mind and awakens them to the presence of their desired state of being. If a person accepts and embodies this higher concept of themselves. It is said, that the person has become clothed in their right mind.
For a person to reject or refuse to acknowledge that which they have now come into awareness of being and to continue living in the past. Is to be delirious and fool hardy. For a persons past beliefs, attitudes and prejudices cannot continue to live, when they are brought into the light of reason. Only by a person hiding their present concept from rational mental analysis can they keep it alive in their world. A persons spiritual mind is their awakened intellect and when a persons mind operates outside of their present senses. When they have come into their right state of mind and are sitting at the foot of self understanding. They then come into possession of the power to bring to life their desires and dreams.
As a persons mind releases itself from its former beliefs, attitudes and prejudices. Releases itself from its natural state of mind. A persons spiritual mind. The mind of all things possible can then assume the mental state they desire and as a person assumes they are what they want to be, remaining faithful, they give form to their assumption. For when a persons mind is healed of all its former limitations. It no longer has cause for confusion or doubt. The person knows they are now mentally that which they are desiring to be and if sustained invariably will awaken as a reality in their world.
A person by denying the senses of their former self. By focusing their attention to their desired concept of themselves. Suspends the limited capability of their natural mind and as they walk in the spirit of that which they have now come into awareness of being. Their true nature. Their desired state of being, without the help of another becomes objectified in their world and the person bears witness to the power of their assumptions. That is, they bear witness to the truth of self that they formerly believed was denied existence by their material (natural) state of mind.
